When coaches say they want to be playing the best ball in May, they mean now. District tournaments are set to begin over the next two weeks in softball, baseball, soccer, tennis and golf, and district track meets are also being scheduled.

MONETT BASKETBALL Who: Jeremy Neville What: Hired to replace Jeremy Land Background: 18 years coaching in Missouri and Kansas prep sports When looking for its next boys basketball coach, the Monett administration valued experience and the Cubs will be getting that in more ways that one with Jeremy Neville. The current coach at Yates Center in southeast Kansas, a 2A school, Neville said he is excited for the opportunity to come back to Missouri.
